Why fund bottle collection?

Where there is no deposit system, an empty bottle is worth nothing. Your funding gives it a value, and gives people a reason to bring it back.

Only 9% of plastic waste is recycled. The rest is burned, buried or leaks into rivers and the sea, where a bottle takes about 450 years to break down.

People return bottles at Sparklomats in shopping centres, supermarkets and residential areas, get a reward for each one, and the PET goes to recyclers. Your money pays for the rewards, the machines and the transport.

Why it holds up when someone asks

Counted by machines with an address

Every bottle is counted as it goes into a Sparklomat. You can visit the machines, and so can your client.

One bottle, one record

Each bottle is allocated to a single record. Nobody else can buy the same bottle.

Bottles no brand already pays for

Bottles you fund come only from machines that no brand pays for, so your money adds collection.

Claims that say what happened

We sell the collection of a stated number of bottles, and that is the only claim we make. The record states the bottles you paid to collect, and that is what you publish.

Questions

Can we say we are plastic neutral?

No, and we do not certify that. You can say how many bottles you paid to collect.

What can we publish?

The number of bottles you funded, the record ID and, once collection starts, the country. Your account has a wording pack with sentences that are safe to post.

How do we know the bottles are counted?

Every bottle is counted by the Sparklomat it goes into, and each bottle is allocated to one record only.

How is it billed?

As a paid service with a VAT invoice. Card for monthly plans and one-time payments, invoice for programmes.

Which countries are the bottles from?

We allocate your volume to the machines that need funding. The record names the country once its first bottles are collected.

Can we change or cancel a plan?

Yes, any time in your account. Records already issued stay online.

We need more than 50,000 bottles a month.

Annual programmes, per-unit campaigns and larger volumes are invoiced. Tell us your volume below and we price it with you.
